Friday February 3
Another visit to Dr. Pang this morning to have the wounds checked. All seems to be well, though he asked to come in for another check on Monday. The two incisions on my knee look horrendous, but I was impressed with how neatly he has stitched them. I asked about walking a few kilometers, and he said that was OK. So, after our visit we walked down to Circular Quay and took the ferry to Kirribilli and walked around to Neutral Bay. Not a very scenic walk, but with a few good views, some interesting architecture (as usual), and unfortunately quite a bit of uphill and steps. Poor Joan had photographed the route (on her phone) but we had problems with the street signs and once were somewhat lost. We asked the way of a young girl, who immediately took out her phone, tapped a few times in Google maps and showed us where we were and the route to the ferry. Back to Circular Quay on the ferry: 333 bus to Taylor Square: walk back to the apartment.
I did feel quite exhausted and spent a couple of hours on the couch with my leg elevated, sometimes playing Freecell, where I tried three games and, unusually, could not complete them, and sometimes just half dozing.
Now up and about and feeling in good shape. Joan has done her swimming, and she has spent a frustrating half an hour on the website of a theatre trying to book tickets. All very frustrating because she needs to put in a state and a phone number and the site would not accept what she tried putting in.
I trimmed my beard down to my usual designer stubble.
